President Trump Leading Expeditious American Superpower Resurgence

For the last two decades or so, America has lost its standing as the sole superpower in the world. By superpower, we define that as a country that wields huge influence in global events and economics. China has expanded its economy and military, becoming a driving force in the global landscape. Russia has continues staying under the radar since the Cold War but have expanded their influence in Europe and the Middle East, as have the Chinese.

All of this has happened while America has mostly stood on the sidelines, especially in the previous Biden administration. However, with the return of President Trump, America has started a turnaround. Almost overnight as well, President Trump has virtually reestablished America's position as the world's sole superpower.

From his capturing of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro to negotiating peace in the Middle East, President trump has had America at the table of every major conversation. Author Arthur Herman says Trump has resurrected America on the world stage.

"Almost every day you check headlines, you see it is the United States with the initiative, you see the United States driving the tempo," he says.

Of course, Democrats would have you believe the opposite, saying the nation is a laughingstock on the world stage. Yet, whenever President Trump throws around the tariff word, countries start coming to negotiate immediately. The capture of Maduro only solidifies America's stance, and that is that the soft days are over.

This turnaround though was not expected to happen so quickly. Considering what happened under the Biden administration, it was fair to assume that mending our image would take time. Biden bungled the Afghanistan withdrawal, the Iranian nuclear deal negotiations, and turned America into some life raft for the third world.

"It really looked like Trump was going to have to spend a lot of time cleaning up the wreckage from the Biden administration," says Herman. "Yet, what has happened, within a year the United States is suddenly the mover and doer."

It is remarkable, especially considering the aforementioned points. But also consider how badly Biden handled the Israel-Hamas war. Biden unfroze over $7 billion in Iranian assets just weeks before that Hamas attack. He also had the power to step in and potentially stop the Russia-Ukraine war and never lifted a finger.

"We just watched the United States retreat more and more into almost kind of an impotent state," Herman says.

So, this resurgence has been unexpected, at least in the time frame. President Trump has aims to continue that, and if he can continue delivering, America will establish itself as the world only superpower for years to come.
