HPD says a teenager was killed early Monday morning after a shooting at a car meet in the Greenspoint area.
Officers were called to the parking lot of the former Greenspoint Mall around 1 a.m. where they found a teenage victim who had been shot.
Investigators say a large crowd had gathered for a car meet when the shooting happened, but everyone scattered before officers arrived, making it hard for detectives to identify suspects or witnesses.
Police do not know what led up to the shooting, but did say that they responded to similar gatherings in the past where large crowds meet to do donuts and, in some cases, fire guns into the air. Police say arrests have been made at this location before.
This is the third time in the last week that a teenager has been killed, including a 13 year old allegedly stabbed by a ten year old, over the last week in the Houston area.
