More than Half of the Respondents Say the Middle Class Is Shrinking

More than 50 percent of the respondents say opportunities for the middle class are decreasing, with over 60 percent that believe economic opportunities for wealthy Americans are increasing according to a new poll conducted by YouGov.

The survey showed a majority of the participants said they were unable to get ahead feeling less optimistic that they would become homeowners. Breitbart Correspondent, Warner Todd Huston, says higher income brackets are feeling the pain too. “How many of us know people that are making $80,000 a year and can barely get by in some of these states across the country- especially the blue states?” Huston said.

With lower gas prices at the pump, and more affordable groceries- 2 crucial expenses affecting Americans on a daily basis- one would think there would be a more positive report. “According to statistics I see, it is beginning to help. Food is coming down, gas prices, and Trump has headwinds against him because the Feds won’t allow him to lower the (housing) interest rates.” He said.

Reversing the damage from the Biden era takes time. The survey showed 83 percent of the respondents said they also struggle to buy their first home. “I think the big one will be if interest rates get cut, and people are able to start buying homes again, like they did during Trump’s first term. Home buying was bad off during Biden’s term because interest rates were too high and costs were too high.” Huston said.

He says maybe people are just too skeptical of the good things that are happening now and don’t feel that they’re going to last.

Despite the skepticism, 51 percent of the participants said their financial situation is fair to very good.
