FCC Investigating the "View" TV Show Over Political Bias

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is launching an investigation into ABC's "The View" amid the agency's crackdown on equal time for political candidates, according to a Fox News report.

The FCC announced last month, it will require the broadcast networks to adhere to the "statutory equal opportunities requirement," citing the Communications Act of 1934, "including their airing of late-night and daytime talk shows."

The news comes as Tx Senate Democratic candidate James Talarico was on the show for 9 mins compared to his opponent Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett- who was given 17 minutes of airtime on the show.

FCC Brendan Carr says he will enforce the 1934 act that says major broadcast networks on late night tv must give equal time to political candidates. "My job is to apply the law. If what they're saying is that the FCC has looked the other way, I don't know, but on my watch- we're going to enforce this regulation." Carr said.
