It looks like we’re getting closer and closer to a government shutdown thanks to Democrat efforts to block yet another key funding bill.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his caucus are demanding that additional funding for DHS and ICE be removed from the bill before it passes.

In a vote earlier this morning, seven GOP senators joined with the Democrat caucus to block the bill.

The Republicans who sided with the Democrats were Ted Budd (R-NC), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Mike Lee (R-UT), Ashley Moody (R-FL), Rand Paul (R-KY), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL).

If a deal isn’t reached and a funding bill isn’t passed by the end of January 30, the federal government will enter a partial shutdown. This would be the second shutdown in just four months.
