A Psychotherapist Warns That 'TDS' Is Real, And Only Getting Worse

We all like to joke about 'TDS' (Trump Derangement Syndrome), but one prominent psychotherapist says not only is TDS real. It's only getting worse.

"Anger has hardened into people's identity, and in some ways the politics have become a new religion" said Jonathan Alpert, a psychotherapist in New York City and Washington D.C., and he is also the author of the upcoming book: 'Therapy Nation'.

Basically, for the left it is all of the things they've accused Trump supporters of. But it's real.

"And it's really ruining families and friendships, and it doesn't have to be that way" Alpert told KTRH, "Politics really shouldn't dictate who we become friends with, but it does and maybe we need to get back to a time like the 80's when things were a little more peaceful."

But one thing is clear. Trump is not the problem, it's what Alpert calls "permanent outrage".

"If a political figure is taking up this much space in someone's head negatively, then I would say that's a problem. And it's only grown worse" noted Alpert.

Something has to give. In the meantime, Alpert says to help deal with those suffering from TDS, you should take the high road with politics. And try to avoid social media at night before you go to bed.
