California Governor Gavin Newsom is still holds the lead for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028. But some believe it may not last.
What's the problem? It starts with Newsom's abysmal record.
"The failure to rebuild after the fires, the debt, the fraud, the deficit, he hasn't done anything good, not one thing" said Monica Showalter, deputy editor for American Thinker.
Newsom has been the governor of the golden state since 2019, and literally has nothing positive to show for it.
"The Democrat machine operatives are noticing what the public is thinking" Showalter told KTRH, "Newsom has been making an absolute lunatic of himself."
And considering that Newsom is currently the only Democrat in double-digits, his push for 2028 will continue, at least until the Dems decide otherwise. Something that could be already underway, as seen in a recent article in the leftist 'Atlantic', which led the story with the headline: 'Gavin Newsom's Record Is a Problem'.
"They know he's not electable, if they put him forward, it's a complete wasted effort" noted Showalter, "The Atlantic is owned by Laureen Jobs, she's a very important branch of the Democratic establishment. So, that group is not happy with Newsom."
And now they are letting it be known.
