In Minneapolis- as the nation braced itself watching the ICE protests and chaos, now, there’s hope.
A spokesperson with the Department of Public Safety posted on X-- that governor Walz will mobilize the National Guard to keep the peace.
In a statement to CNN, Minnesota National Guard spokesperson Army Maj. Andrea Tsuchiya explained that the National Guard was “not deployed to city streets at this time.”
Tsuchiya added that the Minnesota National Guard would provide “traffic support to protect life, preserve property, and support the rights of all Minnesotans to assemble peacefully.”
The report added, the demonstrations have intensified following the shooting death of Renee Good by an ICE agent. Tensions flared again this week when another ICE agent shot and injured a Venezuelan man accused of “violently” resisting arrest, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Federal officials argue Good "weaponized" her vehicle during the interaction with ICE agent, Jonathon Ross.
Perhaps, Border Czar, Tom Homan's, message on Fox resonated with Governor Walz, as he told Americans, Governor Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, "Can fix this now!"
