Most expect or assume that vice president JD Vance will be the Republican nominee for president in 2028. But there is one expert who believes that Vance should be primaried. And primaried hard.
"I would like to see him debate, I would like to see him tested, and I would like to see him fight somebody and say hey, these are the reasons why you should choose me" said Kurt Schlicter, senior columnist at Townhall.com
The big question now is, will it happen?
"Well, that's another question" Schlicter told KTRH, "Now, there are advantages to not having a primary, but will he have the chance? Is there somebody out there? Ted Cruz has been hinting that he wants to run."
Basically, he doesn't want to see Vance get the 'Kamala coronation' that the Democrats did in 2024.
"I don't think that's out of line or unreasonable" noted Schlicter, "Iron sharpens iron, I want it to be somebody good, not a Mike Pence or some loser! I want to see a real race, so let's see what happens."
We shall see about JD the VP, although Schlicter says we should also expect a run from a RINO.
