A chaotic scene unfolding Tuesday at Memorial City Mall in Houston, as the establishment was evacuated due to an ammonia leak.
The Houston Fire Department says the call came in around 4:30 this afternoon, with the leak located at the ice rink. Hazmat crews responded and the mall was evacuated out of precaution.
Crews say a valve was the cause of the leak, and there had been a similar incident with a leak a few weeks prior to Tuesday. They had been working to fix the issue.
No injuries were reported, both for first responders and mall patrons.
The mall is closed until at least Wednesday, as crews continue to clean up and monitor the air in the building.
