It was a busy Monday afternoon for the HFD, as firefighters battled a 2-alarm church fire near Parker Road off the North Freeway.
The fire was first reported at around 12:30pm, after the vacant buildings burst into flames. Houston Mayor John Whitmire even made an appearance to see the damage.
According to our tv partner KPRC channel 2, the building is the former building for Centro Cristiano.
HFD says no injuries have been reported and the building is believed to have been vacant when the fire started.
Approximately 100 firefighters responded to the scene.
Homeless people have been living at the church since they moved out despite a fence being put up by TxDOT.
