One of the big issues looming ahead of the midterms is the 'housing affordability crisis'. The question is, what can President Trump & Republicans do about it?
"What I think they need to do is reverse all of those bad policies across and throughout government, in order to have the desired effect of brining down prices, and making housing more affordable again" said EJ Antoni, economist for the Heritage Foundation.
Or put another way, the government just needs to get out of the way.
"I think we just need to acknowledge the fact that government at countless different levels has really caused the housing difficulties that we have today, that has driven up prices for example" Antoni told KTRH, "That has just made life much, much more expensive."
It's the bottom line, and it's what voters will be voting for. They always do.
"Ultimately, what people really want is to be able to own their home" noted Antoni, "They want to be able to at least have the standard of living that their parents had."
