A pair of Texas congressman, Chip Roy and Keith Self, have launched the new 'Sharia Free America' Caucus to deal with the rise of anti-American Sharia here in the U.S.
"This issue is becoming one that is getting a lot of traction, and it's getting a lot of attention" said Brandon Waltens, editor at Texas Scorecard.
The goal is simple, to prevent what's already happening in Europe, from happening here in the U.S.
"I think the fact that you see this caucus starting in Washington D.C. is at least a positive sign that lawmakers are at least starting to take notice" Waltens told KTRH.
They have already taken notice here in Texas, where Governor Greg Abbott signed new laws in September banning Sharia law, and Sharia compounds.
"Certainly we've seen concerns in Houston and some of the other big urban areas" noted Waltens, "There is a real concern here, this comes after Governor Greg Abbott has already listed groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations."
Recent Islamic violence in the U.S. is on the rise. The caucus is backed U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R–AL).
