Marjorie Taylor Greene Suggests Trump is Losing Control of the GOP

Representative Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga) is back at it, again. In an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, “the dam is breaking” pointing to a vote last week, where 13 Republicans voted to overturn the president’s executive orders enabling him to fire federal workers.

Political Consultant, Luke Macias, says these 13 are some of the most moderate Republicans in the party. “The only Republicans we see turning on the President are Republicans who are comfortable voting with Democrats to undermine a public agenda,” he said, and this is typical pushback from these circles. Her pointing to them as some type of new trend I think is inaccurate." He said.

Macias said he doesn’t view that as a “dam breaking”, he sees this as a longtime struggle within the Republican party.

In addition, in the interview, Greene suggested the president will endure a “lame duck” period as she speculates the Indiana Republicans who voted against redistricting will likely turn in Trump in the primaries in 2026, to save themselves for re-election. “There are some Republican officials once they say they’re not running for re-election, that they will vote out of lockstep with what the Republican voters would want. It is true that we have quite a few Republican congressmen who are only pushing America first policies because they want to be reelected. They don’t believe in this president’s agenda.” Macias said.

The political consultant says he believes these Democrats will face consequences.
