A Texas Church Turns The Nativity Scene Into A 'Woke' Political Statement

While many Texans are dreaming of a 'White' Christmas, there's a church in Dallas that is having a 'woke' Christmas.

Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas has set up a nativity scene that has Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus locked up in a barbed wire cage.

"That's sad to see a so-called church giving an inaccurate representation of what actually happened in the Bible, and a cheap way to score political points" said Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values.

The church put the scene in front of the rainbow steps at the entrance.

"What this scandalous church is doing, is a cheap and obvious attempt to get attention, and it's working, sadly" Saenz told KTRH, "But, it's also an inaccurate depiction of what's going now, and historically."

Joseph and Mary were not breaking any laws on the night of the Lord's birth, they just couldn't find a place to stay.

"The folks are incredibly desperate because the public does not agree with them overwhelmingly" noted Saenz, "People of faith overwhelmingly do not agree with their position."

Saenz also pointed out that the church keeps their doors lock, and in 2022, the church defied a bishop and appointed two openly gay pastors.
