Even though Republican redistricting was an overwhelming success here in Texas, that was not the case in Indiana where a new proposed map failed.
"It's just completely ridiculous" said Shawn Fleetwood, staff writer for The Federalist, "What this kind of shines a light on is, the problem of Republican voters ignoring the primary process."
That means, not showing up for the primary elections, which has resulted in a nationwide primary problem.
"Unfortunately, that's the reality and that's unfortunately the reality in a lot of red states where you have the GOP establishment that's reigning supreme over the state legislature" Fleetwood told KTRH.
Less than half of Republican voters participate in the primaries, and that leads to RINO's, and 'No' votes, like we saw in Indiana.
"Really, what this boils down to is an issue of self-governance" noted Fleetwood, "And unless we the people actually take self governance seriously, and holding them accountable in primaries, the type of traitorous behavior that you're seeing in places like Indiana among the Republicans, that's not going to change."
Hoping for change, both President Trump and Indiana GOP Governor Mike Braun have vowed to pack the primaries with new Republican challengers.
