A four-year-old boy has died after suffering a gunshot wound. The child has been identified as Josiah Cabral.
Police were called to the scene of a reported shooting at a home near the corner of Windstone Creek and Limestone Hill on the Far Northwest Side Monday afternoon
Investigators say that the child's father began performing life-saving measures before first responders arrived. The child suffered one gunshot wound with a handgun.
Many questions remain unanswered, and investigators are working to determine if the shooting was accidental or otherwise. Both parents will be interviewed as to what happened.
"I don't have any detail whatsoever about how the shooting occurred, except that it occurred inside the house, the mom, the dad, and the child were the only ones in the house at the time," said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. "And that's all we have right now until we sort this out and talk to the parents."
There's no word ion any charges as of yet.
