A late-night traffic stop in Atascocita turned dangerous in seconds after a Precinct 4 deputy inhaled an unknown white powder and collapsed during a vehicle search. Deputies say it happened around 4 a.m. on Ramsay Cascades Drive after a driver tried to outrun them before finally being caught.
When the powder became airborne, the deputy immediately fell ill, and his team moved fast, giving multiple doses of Narcan until EMS could take over. His condition hasn’t been released, but Constable Mark Herman says their quick action likely saved his life. The driver is now charged with DWI and evading, and investigators expect more charges once lab results identify what was inside the car.
