A homeowner and a suspected home intruder are both in the hospital after an attempted home invasion Tuesday morning.
HPD says two men tried to force their way into the home when the homeowner confronted them and opened fire. One of the bad guys returned fire, hitting the homeowner, but was also shot multiple times.
The homeowner drove himself to a nearby fire station for help. The injured suspect ran from the scene and ended up knocking on a neighbor’s door, two blocks away, for help. Both the homeowner and the suspect are in stable condition.
The second suspect got away.
