Three Houston police officers are recovering after being injured in separate suspected drunken-driving crashes less than 24 hours apart.
Houston police say an HPD unit was hit around 10:45 p.m Sunday night in the Midtown area after a driver blew through a stop sign. Investigators said the driver and his passenger both admitted to having a drink earlier in the night. The two men inside the car and the two officers were taken to the hospital. All are expected to recover.
This crash came less than 24 hours after another HPD officer was hurt in a suspected DWI crash on Sunday morning in the Heights. That incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on TC Jester near White Oak Bayou. Both the driver and the officer were taken to the hospital. HPD has not yet released an update on their conditions.
