As the government shut down lingers into November, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary Sean Duffy are anticipating a “disaster in aviation” this holiday season.
Travel Advisor, Catherine Banks doesn’t want travelers to feel unsafe. “They’re not talking about a mid-air collision or a runway excursion. They ‘re talking about delays and slowdowns.” Banks said.
She is optimistic there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. “There’s no way the government stays closed the rest of the year.” She said.
Banks says she would like the government to find a way to pay the FAA workers so they’re not working 2nd jobs just to make ends meet during another government shutdown.
This weekend Bush Intercontinental had ground stops on Saturday and announced staffing shortages that limited terminal operations causing diversions and delays over the weekend.
