No Lina Hidalgo, no problem as Harris County Commissioners just approved a $70 million + 'pay equity' increase for county employees by a vote of 3-1. (Hidalgo was not at the meeting.)
Republican Tom Ramsey was the lone 'no' vote.
The raises will be implemented beginning in February 2026. Roughly $7 million of these pay increases are based on race and gender 'disparities', but does not include merit and benefits for the other $40 million plus, annually.
