In response to Texas deploying 400 members of the Texas National Guard to Chicago, leftists are now spreading a list of Texas-based companies to boycott. It includes companies like ExxonMobil, Southwest Airlines, and of course, Elon Musk's Tesla.
Their goal? Cause economic pain that will force Governor Greg Abbott to recall the Texas guardsmen, but will it actually work? Political strategist Vlad Davidiuk says probably not.
According to Davidiuk, "People understand that the boycott is based on something silly. They're going to overlook it because they understand that the people pushing it are silly." He went on to say that on top of not taking it seriously, most people are just too busy to worry about something like making sure they don't get their gas from an Exxon station.
Davidiuk went on to call this just another example of the left trying to force their policies on Americans who don't want them, saying, "That is the operating system the left uses; that's how they see the world. They want their way, and they're willing to do whatever it takes."
He went on to warn that the boycott could just be the beginning of the left-wing efforts to force Trump and Abbott to change pace, saying, "Certainly what we've seen in places like Portland and places like Chicago is the unleashing of violence with the intent of causing confusion and chaos as the left tries to force leaders to back down."
