Harris County Attorney Continues To Sue Trump Administration

Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee is once again facing blowback for his participation in national lawsuits against the Trump administration while also campaigning for the Texas 18th congressional district, which was left open following the death of Sylvester Turner.

That run for Congress should have resulted in him being disqualified from the office of Harris County attorney, but as Jared Woodfill with the Conservative Republicans of Texas points out, "He has not resigned, but he's still running. Democrats and the county judge on Commissioners Court have refused to apply the law."

This means that the Harris County attorney is currently collecting a paycheck from the taxpayers while running for another public office, and according to Woodfill, wasting even more taxpayer money on frivolous lawsuits against President Trump.

Woodfill called out all of this waste, saying, "Christian Menefee has abused our taxpayer dollars, and he's engaged in lawfare against President Trump to promote his candidacy for the 18th congressional district."

He also called out the fact that one of the more recent lawsuits against the Trump administration that Menefee involved Harris County in came out of California. Woodfill said, "He's trying to bring California values to Texas, but last time I checked, Texas is a heavily Republican state. The people of Texas, if given an opportunity, would vote against Christian Menefee."

Woodfill says both Republicans and Democrats running for the District 18 seat should be outraged that Menefee is using his office this way.
