California Has A $20 Billion Deficit And $10 Million To Subsidize The Media

The state of California is currently facing a $20 billion dollar deficit. But that didn't stop their state legislature from approving a whopping $10 million to be spent for a 'media subsidy program'.

"Look, they're just going to hand out money to media operations that play ball" said political commentator Kurt Schlicter, who lives in Houston but also works in L.A., "They're going to take public money and pay people to say good things about them in the media."

That's it in a nutshell. The program is being billed as a way to support 'local journalism', but at $10 million, it is clearly not 'free' speech.

"They don't like free speech, they don't care about free speech, they're against free speech" Schlicter told KTRH, "What they want to do is have speech they control, and this is just their manifestation of it."

And it's also a way to keep them afloat, like all of the other leftist programs.
