Gen-Z Workers Aren't Dealing With Work Stress Well

A new study from Johns Hopkins University reports that 68 percent of Gen-Z workers say they're stressed out most of the time they're at work. So what exactly are employers doing about that? More importantly, why is all this happening?

For starters, workplace experts like Joshua Evans are warning that the solution should not be to coddle Gen-Z workers. He said, "Instead of trying to creat environments where Gen-Z does not have stress, I believe we should empower them to deal with the stress they're feeling."

He says that excessive coddling that many members of Gen-Z have dealt with their entire lives is likely the root cause of this. He explained, "Gen-Z has a false sense of what adulthood is, and then entering the workforce at a very difficult time is causing them to face moments of reality that they really were not ready for."

Evans also stressed the importance of course correcting now. He says, while we obviously can't go back in time and change how Gen-Z was raised, we can make sure that future generations don't face the same coddling, and as a result, are ready to face the often stressful realities of day-to-day life.

He thinks that will make future generations much more effective both in the workplace and in general adulthood.
