It's what a true "grassroots" movement looks like: Houston-area residents honored the memory, message and courage of Charlie Kirk on Sunday night at Discovery Green.
The park next to the George R. Brown Convention Center saw hundreds of people -- some witnesses say thousands -- holding handmade signs saying "We ARE Charlie Kirk," and "I am nothing without Jesus."
There were speakers talking of their contact with, and inspiration from, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, who was shot and killed on Wednesday while conducting a question-and-answer session at Utah Valley University, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah.
One man is in custody in a Utah jail, expected to be formally charged Tuesday with murder.
