Two Houston Police officers are recovering from a traffic accident Tuesday morning in Downtown Houston.
The officers had a suspect in the back seat of their patrol car and were headed to a processing location to file paperwork when their car was hit by another vehicle in the 1700 block of Travis at Pease about 10:30 am.
That suspect was also taken to a hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the accident site, and was said to be okay, as the two officers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to investigators, who said it's possible the driver of the other vehicle ran a red light.
The suspect remained in custody of police after the accident, and investigators are trying to determine whether the patrol car had it's emergency lights on when it was hit.
