As President Trump continues to move forward with the MAGA movement, one conservative commentator sees a historical comparison, and it's not with Ronald Reagan.
Political writer Doug Schwartz says it all started with William F. Buckley Jr.
"There's no doubt he was an American original, nobody before or since has ever come near him" Schwartz said, noting that the first conservative movement began with Buckley in the 1950's.
"Buckley, in 1955 when he founded National Review, he was the first one to really stand up and yell stop" Schwartz told KTRH, "That was the start that got the momentum going, which led to Reagan, which led to Nixon, which led to Trump."
William F. Buckley Jr. passed away in 2008, but Schwartz believes he would be behind MAGA today.
