Thunderstorms dropped lots of rain on the Houston area Sunday, causing cars to stall and some apartments and businesses to worry about high water.
Along I-45 the Gulf Freeway there were cars flooded near Woodridge, where high water caused cars to stall.
There were more incidents of high water on Houston's east side on I-10 at Lockwood, more on the South Loop 610 near Woodridge and near the South Loop 610 near Broadway, not far from Hobby Airport.
And there were sparse reports of drivers being stranded in their cars, in need of rescue.
The stormy weather caused flight delays at both Hobby and Bush Intercontinental airports, at a couple of points causing the airports to issue "ground stops," orders that flights cannot leave the airports for a specific amount of time because of hazard to air takeoff and possibly landing.
And the slick streets caused by heavy rain were contributors to several car accidents around Southeast Texas on Sunday.
