A pair of Precinct 4 Deputy Constables were injured in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver. Both are in surgery.
According to Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office, the deputies were responding to a pedestrian in the roadway on the tollway near Ella Boulevard when a driver crashed into their patrol units and hit the deputies who were out of their vehicles. One of the deputies was taken to the hospital by Life Flight. The other was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Officials say five people were injured in total.
