Harris County Precinct Four Constable Mark Herman announced that patrols would be ramped up at churches in his jurisdiction.

“The safety of our community will always come first. We want our residents to know that we stand with them, and that our deputies will be a visible presence to provide peace of mind as they attend services,” Herman stated.

Although there is no known threat to the Houston area, Herman said he is taking these measures out of an abundance of caution.

Two children were killed and 17 other people were hurt. The shooter, who changed names from male to female, took his own life. Police in Minneapolis confirmed the existence of a manifesto that uploaded to social media at the time of the shooting. It included anti-Catholic and ant-Jewish themes. One of the gun magazines in the video also had 'Kill Trump' written on it.
