Some residents just to the west of Downtown Houston were without power for a while in the early morning hours Saturday after a car rammed into a utility pole.
The driver of the car was killed, according to police, and is believed to have been in his 30s, but he's not been identified.
CenterPoint Energy crews were on the scene shortly after being called about 3:30 am Saturday and restored power to the area near The Heights a short time later.
Houston Police had the scene of the accident, Durham near Nett Street, blocked off as dawn approached.
