With all of the attention on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, North Korea has quietly been busy, and sneaky, with reports of a secret missile base near the Chinese border.
"It really isn't a total shocker, the shock is is that the media actually cares about it at this point" said Harry Kazianis, publisher and CEO of National Security Journal, "The North Korean's have been working very steadily towards building an intercontinental ballistic missile capability to essentially be able to hit perhaps Europe, but definitely and obviously the United States."
According to a report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, construction on the base began in 2004, and it is located about 17 miles away from the Chinese border.
"Something that president Trump worried about back in 2017, and the Biden administration really didn't care much about North Korea" Kazianis told KTRH.
But the goal is simple, to be able to launch and strike the U.S.
"And now we're in a situation where the North Korean's probably have at least a dozen or more intercontinental ballistic missiles that most likely can strike the United States with a nuclear payload" noted Kazianis.
He says the next step is for president Trump to revisit the 'Rocket Man', sometime in the near future.
