The Department of Justice has released a new list of 35 different states, counties, and even cities that they say have become illegal alien sanctuaries and is calling on them to end their "obstruction of federal immigration law."

The list includes states like California, Colorado, New York, Illinois, and even the District of Columbia, among others. Among the cities included in the list are Jersey City, New Jersey; Newark, New Jersey; Berkeley, California; Chicago, Illinois, and others.

Breitbart associate editor Bob Price thinks this is likely just the beginning for these sanctuary cities and warned them to expect more action soon, saying the DOJ is "going to look at what kind of litigation they can file. They'll use this as a vehicle to target these city, state, and county jurisdictions."

Notably, you won't find any Texas cities or counties on this list, and Price says you can thank our strong legislative action for that. He said, "The Texas Legislature took action, making it against the law to be a sanctuary jurisdiction, and the attorney general's office monitors that."

Price says that under Texas law, the attorney general can bring charges against local officials, including prosecutors and even county sheriffs, who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement actions.

He says we've even seen more recent legislation that mandates every county sheriff in the state enter into enforcement agreements with ICE.
