Are Democrat Attempts To Campaign On The Epstein Issue Just Performative?

Democrats have spent the last several weeks campaigning on the Epstein issue, even going as far as to use it as an excuse to attempt to seize control of the House floor. The real question is, how sincere is the Democratic outrage surrounding Trump's handling of Epstein documents?

One prime example of this apparent left-wing hypocrisy is Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), who has gone on record in recent days saying that Trump's not releasing more Epstein files is "weird." But as recently as five years ago, Slotkin said the Epstein issue wasn't "front of mind."

Shortly after that, Democrats were able to gain control of most of the federal government, including the White House, so why didn't they do something about the Epstein files sooner? Gary Polland with the Texas Conservative Review pointed out that, "They have had every opportunity to release the Epstein information whenever they wanted to. But they didn't bother; in fact, they didn't talk about it. They said it was a distraction."

He then suggested that the Democrats could be using this whole issue as a distraction of their own in an effort to mask their own unpopularity. He said, "The Democrats really don't have much to talk about. They're wrong on 90/10 issues, and so they're looking for mud that they can throw to try to get to Trump."

Polland then said that Democratic outrage over the Trump DOJ's attempts to coax information out of longtime Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell is the perfect example of this. The Trump DOJ has recently held multiple meetings with Maxwell to question her, and Democrats are outraged that she was granted limited immunity to answer those questions.

Polland pointed out that the left never tried at all to get information from her, saying, "They don't want the information because they want to be able to attack on it. But the Democratic DOJ under Joe Biden never looked into or talked to her about anything."
