Democrats have been on the wrong side of the ignorance fence far too long when it comes to illegal immigration. In short, they see illegal aliens as potential votes and want open borders to preserve themselves. They might say it is some empathic move to nurture the world. But it is always purely self-preservation. So, naturally, they have continued throwing temper tantrums about President Trump's complete shutdown of illegal immigration.
Many of them have claimed it is some fascist movement and inexplicably compared ICE officers to Nazi soldiers. Then there is the other half, who have either gone deep into cognitive dissonance or plain ignorance, and refuse to believe any of what President Trump has accomplished is real. In fact, the left-wing media outlet Axios just published an article saying 'no one knows' why illegal immigration has fallen.
Well, Axios, the answer is relatively simple. It is because of President Trump's executive action.
Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland says the law has once again been enforced.
"During the Biden Administration, there was so much activity that no consequences were being applied...now, if you cross the border illegally, you get prosecuted...and could be in jail up to 60 days," he says.
Not even considering the got-a-ways, just look at the number of encounters for border patrol. An average month under President Biden saw, over 200,000 encounters per month. Under President Trump, that has dropped to about 26,000 per month. That is night and day.
It is not as if they are going elsewhere, either. Those numbers apply to the entire stretch with Mexico.
"During Biden, we saw significant increases in activity...one year it was a 460 percent increase in border crossings...in June of this year, we only had four apprehensions, for border patrol here...in July, there have been only three apprehensions," Cleveland says.
At the time, Biden whined that it was all because of Congress he could not slow the border. But President Trump made it clear all it takes is the stroke of a pen. In Biden's case, the stroke of an autopen.
The Left constantly cries as well about American being the problem. We are either racist, or do not cater enough to the millions of people who suddenly want to enter the country. But they need to look in the mirror.
"They will tell you the immigration system is broken...the system is not broken...what is really showed is that Washington D.C. is broken," says Cleveland.
So, Axios, everyone knows why the numbers have collapsed. Because the rule of law is back, and it could not have come sooner.
