Cities across the country are bracing for more anti-ICE protests brought about by the "No Kings Group". They've scheduled a massive day of action on Saturday, June 14th, across multiple Texas cities, including Houston, Dallas, Austin, and even smaller cities like College Station, and Beaumont.
Turns out, the No Kings Group is tied to the massive anti-school-choice teachers union, the American Federation of Teachers. They're listed as a partner on the No Kings website, and AFT President Randi Weingarten even hosted a town hall for the group yesterday.
So why would a massive teachers union bother getting involved with massive anti-ICE protests? According to Corey DeAngelis with the American Culture Project, there are actually a couple of major reasons.
The first one is rather simple. DeAngelis says it's because, "They don't care about education, they're indoctrinators that are just trying to inject politics into the classroom. They're activists."
He says the second big reason for AFT's involvement in the No Kings movement is the simple fact that these unions have something to gain from open borders. He pointed out that, "They financially benefit because the teachers unions get funded based on the number of students in the schools. If you have fewer immigrants in the schools, they'll get less money."
He went on to note that in some places, schools and school districts can even get extra money for having students who don't speak English, which gives teachers unions even more of an incentive to allow illegal alien children into the country.
DeAngelis went on to say that after the violence we've seen at anti-ICE riots across Los Angeles, the planned No Kings protests should be canceled. He says they're just another attempt to stoke division.
