Ten suspects are facing charges after a bust by Houston police on an illegal after-hours club.
Police raided the club in the 400 block of West Parker Rd. at about 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Houston Mayor John Whitmire reports they seized guns and drugs. “This is serious business,” he said, “not to mention the cocaine, the human trafficking and many illicit activities, right here in a residential area on the north side of Houston.”
Whitmire said the raid also involved police from the Fort Worth area, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Comptroller’s office.
Police Chief J. Noe Diaz says “These clubs are just popping up everywhere.”
Whitmire says operators of illegal clubs should expect more crackdowns like this.
"Club owners and managers and drug traffickers need to know HPD is going to find you," he said.
