GUILTY: Man Convicted of Killing Harris County Precinct 5 Deputy Constable

A jury has found Oscar Rosales guilty of capital murder in the death of Harris County Precinct 5 Deputy Constable Charles Galloway in 2022. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. The punishment phase of the trial will begin on Monday.

The jury took about three hours to come to a verdict in a trial that lasted less than a week.

Rosales killed Deputy Constable Charles Galloway during a traffic stop in 2022. Galloway pulled over aRosales. white Toyota Avalon for a traffic stop. Rosales got out of the Toyota and immediately opened fire. Galloway was killed before he could even get out of his patrol vehicle.

Rosales then fled the country and was eventually arrested in Mexico.

Galloway was with the department for 12 years at the time of his murder. He was survived by his daughter and sister.
