Accused Metro Bus Shooter Goes to Court

The man accused of shooting and killing a man aboard a Metro bus about ten days ago had his first day in court on Saturday.

Carltonio Jackson, 22, is facing murder charges in the death of Phillip Ogiemwonyi, 35, during an argument on a bus near the Southwest Houston intersection of Kirby Dr. and West Bellfort.

Authorities say Jackson fled on foot after the shooting but was captured by surveillance cameras, which led to his capture by police on Friday.

Photos from those cameras were released just one day after the crime, but police had little luck in finding the suspect until an anonymous tip led to Jackson's arrest, after which a witness identified him as the shooter on the bus, according to officials.
