When Fort Bend County Commissioners get together again, they will continue a redistricting fight that has turned ugly, and personal.
And also illegal, after a shocking revelation from Judge KP George who admitted that the FBC redistricting map that he drew up in 2021, was based on race. And that is not allowed.
"He stipulated that they were predominantly based on race" said FBC Precinct 3 Commissioner, Andy Meyers, "To create an African-American precinct, a Hispanic precinct, and an Asian precinct. Federal law doesn't allow you to do that."
If that's not bad enough, the meeting got personal when one of the Democrat Commissioners brought up Meyers late wife.
"They drew me out of my home of 47 years, so I had to move in order to run for re-election" Meyers told KTRH, "And this is where it got personal, because my terminally ill wife wanted to move to Katy."
A new low, even for Democrat standards.
As for the redistricting maps, they are illegal and will have to be redrawn eventually. No one knows how soon, or when that's going to happen.
