An Obama appointed federal judge will keep preventing the Trump administration’s latest crackdown on Harvard university over foreign students and pro-terrorist antisemitism.
The Department of Homeland Security had tried to revoke Harvard’s ability to host foreign students through the Student and Exchange Visitor program because of pro Hamas terrorist activists creating a hostile environment for Jewish students on campus.
On Thursday, Judge Allison Burroughs said she will issue an injunction against the crackdown. That continues a temporary retraining order she had already issued last week.
The administration’s action came after months of campus protest in support of Hamas terrorists in the Hamas war against Israel, during which Jewish students reported being threatened and feeling unsafe.
On X, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted “We continue to reject Harvard’s repeated pattern of endangering its students and spreading American hate.” She called on Harvard to “change its ways in order to participate in American programs.”
The confrontation between the White House and the Ivy League icon came to a head last month when Harvard refused to comply with instructions from the Trump Administration’s Task Force to Combat Antisemitism.
