A chemical leak at an industrial plant in Freeport resulted in a shelter-in-place order being issued, but as of 10:45 A.M., the order had been lifted.
According to reports, there was an active chlorine gas leak at Olin unit in Plant B, which began around 9:00am.
Brazosport ISD reported that their campuses went into shelter in place, meaning doors would remain shut, and students would not be released until authorities gave the all clear.
As of now, it's unknown whether or not any employees where injured during the leak, but reports say employees at the facility are following safety procedures.
