In addition to all of the great work and cuts being made in Washington D.C. by 'DOGE', a leading Montana based conservation group is hoping to streamline the U.S. Department of Interior.
It's the Property and Environment Research Center (PERC), a nonpartisan leader in "market solutions" for conservation, and they have come up with 10 ideas to make it happen.
"I don't know how politically viable they are, but everything they suggested seems really on track with a good conservation policy" said Marc Morano with the Climate Depot, "It's not so much spending, it's the regulatory process. Definitely, you want to deregulate and streamline all of that. This is a heavy regulatory agency historically."
Basically, the group wants to cut a lot of the 'green tape', not the 'red tape'.
"The main thing they're talking about is just to streamline the agency to make it more efficient and work with local communities" Morano told KTRH, "They're just looking at it from a sort of a 'think tank' perspective, and seeing a more efficient way to run things. And they're probably right."
