The Trump administration is doing much of what they promised to do but the president cannot afford to see his support waiver.
It'd hurt President Trump to get people overreacting to the tariffs or the mass deportations. The mainstream media would eat that up and spew it back out as 'Trump's supporters are regretting their vote and their support.'
Trump still has the support from most of the country though. Rasmussen Reports found that his approval rating has steadied at around 50%, which is much higher than Congressional Democrats who are sitting at 21% approval.
However, nothing will stop Democrats and the mainstream media outlets from trying to split up the president and his base.
Brian Joondeph, writer for the American Thinker, said Americans need to trust Trump and the plan he and his administration have laid out and not react to the media overreaction.
"The important thing is to stay the course because Trump has a plan and betting against him is a poor move," said Joondeph.
The media's game plan is to try and create infighting amongst Trump supporters They're hellbent on separating Trump from his base and the American people. As Joondeph would say, "It's important that the base not go wobbly."
We've seen for nearly 10 years now that those who bet against President Trump usually end up losing with the mainstream media typically at the frontlines. After all, the man has been making deals for most of his life.
"It's interesting that he always seems to come out with the winning hand," Joondeph said. "Either he has incredibly good luck or he has divine providence but either one is a great thing."
Another piece of advice from Joondeph is to stop complaining about the tariffs. After all, the tariffs have resulted in some 75 countries coming to the negotiating table with the U.S. and the isolation of China. The tariffs from Trump's first term also did not trigger inflation as predicted.
"They're not an end per say, they're means to an end, and it's brought these countries to the table and they're going to be talking about more than just tariffs," Joondeph added.
Although the Trump team was hitting the ground fast right out of the gate with what they were able to accomplish in less than three months in office, this second Trump term will be a marathon, not a sprint. We can expect a lot more executive action and a revamp of the American economy. A Trump supporter abandoning him at this point seems silly.
