Following through on a campaign promise to "unleash American energy," President Trump has signed a new executive order to revitalize the coal industry.
During a White House ceremony on Tuesday, Trump said he is ending President Biden's "war on clean coal," saying former President Biden put thousands of miners out of work.
The order aims to reverse Biden-era policies that slowed coal production. President Trump added this will help bring American back from energy dependence to independence.
"Coal is the single most reliable, durable, secure, and powerful form of energy there is on earth today," he said.
The President also noted European countries are even reverting back to coal energy, after years of green energy policies.
