Europe has been on a backward slide for the last decade or so, as countries like France and England open their borders up for any and all immigrants to flow. It has created in turn a socialistic hold on the continent, giving the world a view of how the idea would work in a country. Simply put, it has not worked well, and now some countries are verging on a Democratic disaster.
England recently enacted a new sentencing guideline that gives harsher punishments for white males over 25, and less harsh sentences for those that are in minority groups. That is just one of many examples of problems ongoing in Europe right now. In France, they have an even bigger one unfolding.
Leading Presidential Candidate Marine Le Pen has now been banned by a Paris court from running in the election against longtime President Emmanuel Macron. The court found her guilty of embezzlement for allegedly using public funds for her party on political activities in France. So now Macron, who has run the country into the ground, has no true challenger. Le Pen had been leading in all recent polls. Sounds a little familiar.
Silvio Canto Junior of The American Thinker says the timing of this is a bit questionable.
"She has been around a long time...to all the sudden pick this moment, it sounds a little like what they did to President Trump," he says.
The Paris court sentenced Le Pen to four years in prison and banned her from running in any elections for the next five years. They even banned her from seeking political office during the appeals process, which will block her from the 2027 election. One in which she stands as the undisputed frontrunner.
Similar to the United States, France is also very politically divided right now. So, in the end, this use of political lawfare will cause nothing but more problems.
"If she is convicted, half the country will not believe it, if she is not, then half won't believe it," says Silvio. "When you get into that level of political vengeance, you have to have a case that is so tight. It is just not going to end well."
It did not end very well here in the U.S. when Democrats used lawfare against President Trump. They threw everything at him, and he beat it due to the Supreme Court. But it caused people to dig their heads in the sand, and the divide has grown larger than it ever has.
But this is nothing new, and unexpected from the Democrat/Socialism realm. Lawsuits, court cases, yell 'threat to democracy,' rinse, repeat. Anything to hold up progress and deny the people of what they want.
"If I was in France right now, I would be very worried about the political stability of my country," Silvio says. "I think French democracy will suffer a serious blow with this."
Silvio adds that socialists will stop at nothing to keep the power they have.
They always kick and scream about President Trump being a threat to democracy' here in the United States. But right in front of our eyes we are seeing the actual threat to democracy: liberals and their lawfare.
