The insanity of the Left has infected numerous companies in the United States the last few years, as most turned to the ideology to stay 'woke' with the times. As the trump Administration settles in, more companies are doing away with the wokeness and going back to being, well, normal. But there are a few people still straggling along, refusing to come along with the times. Austin-based Yeti appears to be one of them.
The Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women, based in northern Virginia, is a nonprofit specializing in "Conservative outreach, education, and mentorship of young women." Every year, the organization orders custom Yeti traveler cups with their logo on it. In 2024, the order was filled with no problems. However, this year, when the Luce Center submitted the same request, Yeti canceled the order.
Lauren Husmann of the Luce Center says that Yeti's reasoning to them was the request was 'political.'
"They claim that the order was canceled because the word Conservative is 'on the political aisle,' when in reality, the Luce Center is a 501c3 nonprofit," she says.
That is right. The wokeness has become so out of left field now that even the word 'Conservative' has become too political.
But the worst part of it is that because they are a nonprofit, Yeti's argument does not even hold water.
"We do not partake in any political affiliations, but we cannot by law, we are prohibited from siding with parties, or endorsing or opposing political candidates," says Husmann. "We have just concluded that this is an attack on Conservative values, because we do not qualify for the policy they are quoting."
It would be entirely different if there was a group wanting a historical logo, like a Swastika, on their mug. Yes, that is political. But just the word 'Conservative?' That verges into the insanity we have come to expect from woke companies.
Yeti has had no problems int he past making cups for unions and various other groups. But a Conservative group is somehow too far.
Everyone remembers what happened to Bud Light when they went too political with their company. They slapped trans woman Dylan Mulvaney on commercials as the face of their company, and saw sales absolutely plummet when people boycotted the brand. If they continue, this could be the same for Yeti.
"Unfortunately, they do not want to take money from Conservatives, so we are taking out money elsewhere, and Conservatives across the country are going to take money elsewhere...we have heard from many Conservative groups that they plan to boycott Yeti as well," Husmann says.
Yeti did not respond to KTRH's request for comment.
