Is The Biden Border Crisis Over? Texas Shifts Police Forces Off Rio Grande

It's a story that is being ignored by most of the Texas media. Governor Greg Abbott's 'Operation Lone Star' is finally slowing down and scaling back at the border.

What that really means is, the Biden-border crisis is finally over.

"They understand that the change has happened, and that it's probably going to be maintained for the next four years" said Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow with the Center for Immigration Studies.

And because of that change, OLS is now shifting resources away from the border and inland. The reason for the change, is simple.

"Because the Trump administration came in and undid what the previous administration did, and they're deporting everybody they catch" Bensman told KTRH, "There is really no reason any longer to have Texas DPS in the mix."

The left has criticized OLS for the cost of more than $11 billion over 4 years. But most believe it was money well spent.

"There arrest numbers speak for themselves, they busted a lot of bad guys. Thousands and thousands" noted Bensman, "And who can complain about that."

It's what he calls a 'border peace dividend', and he should know having been embedded with Operation Lone Star over the last 4 years.

The other positive is that many troopers finally getting a well deserved break.
